Domestic Shipping

The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company ships via United Parcel Service and the U.S. Postal Service. We make every effort to ship orders within 48 hours of the following business day. However, orders arriving on or just prior to weekends or holidays will take longer, particularly during the busy Christmas holiday season. (Orders are not shipped on weekends on holidays.) Once shipped, orders travel to destination addresses via UPS or USPS and are subject to their delivery time frames. We do not control how long it takes third party shippers to get deliveries across the United States and to foreign countries. Shipping and handling charges for United States addresses are based upon the total dollar amount of your order.

Additional postage will be charged for shipments outside of the United States. Please note that foreign orders will incur a second credit card charge to cover the actual shipping costs after those have been calculated. Gift certificates for delivery within the United States are free of any shipping and handling charges. All other domestic orders adhere to the following shipping and handling fee schedule.

Tea is an imported commodity. Due to changes in global currency values, general inflation and energy costs, prices are subject to change without notice.

Domestic Expedited Service Charges

We realize that there are times when your order is urgent. In response to customer requests, the Mark T. Wendell Tea Company is now offering the following Special Service options:

Next-Day UPS is available for an additional $35.00 per delivery address.
Second-Day UPS is available for an additional $25.00 per delivery address.

If desired, simply check the appropriate box which will appear on the “Shipping Methods” page of our shopping cart. Special service charges apply only to orders shipped in the continental United States which total under $100. To qualify, orders must be received and processed on a UPS business day, prior to 2:30PM Eastern Time. For orders over $100, actual Second Day UPS and Next Day UPS shipping rates to the destination will apply. Please note that Expedited Service options do NOT provide deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.

Foreign Shipments

The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company ships to foreign countries thru the United States Postal Service. All foreign orders will ship via Airmail Parcel Post to their destinations. Posted delivery times will vary by destination, but most occur within 4-10 days of the actual shipping date. Economy (Surface) Parcel Post will be used if requested, but your order could then take up to 4-6 weeks to arrive.

Foreign orders are subject to charges in addition to the domestic shipping rates shown above. These charges are calculated based upon the package’s overall weight and destination point. These rates are calculated by the United States Postal Service. Please note that foreign orders will incur a second credit card charge to cover the actual shipping costs after those have been calculated.

Please note that free shipping on orders over $100 does not apply to foreign addresses.

Mark T. Wendell Loose Tea Packaging Options

Our entire line of Mark T. Wendell loose packed teas – in either the one pound of 1/2 pound sizes – is available in lined paper bags which can be used to refill existing tin canisters. This option is only available in those two sizes and only for items which are packaged directly by Mark T. Wendell. Look for the icons above within the product listings to identify teas with the refill pack option.

Gift Orders

The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company welcomes your gift orders and the opportunity to introduce your friends and relatives to the pleasures of tea drinking, whether at holiday times or any special occasion. We will even include a personalized greeting message, if you would like. Simply include your intended greeting in the Customer Comments section of the order form. Your own billing information, as well as the gift recipient’s shipping information must be entered, and a separate online shopping cart must be used for each gift order recipient, with separate shipping charges calculated for each gift order.

Gift Certificates

Most tea drinkers are somewhat particular when it comes to their likes, dislikes and tea preferences. If you are uncertain, a Mark T. Wendell Gift Certificate might be just the solution. Gift Certificates are available online in convenient $20.00 through $100.00 denominations.

Sales Tax

Non-food items (such as tea pots and accessories) are subject to 5% State Sales Tax for Massachusetts customers only.

Our Guarantee & Return Policy

The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company has been importing and packaging fine teas for almost 100 years. Our teas are of the highest quality and are guaranteed fresh and flavorful. The bulk teas that we pack under our MTW label are shipped to us in wooden tea chests and in foil sealed, air-tight boxes. When the tea chests arrive at our warehouse, we inspect the tea leaves to confirm that they are of the highest quality. We store our loose teas in air-tight rubber drums. This allows us to ensure a superior product and to guarantee freshness. We do not ship out of date packaged goods (imported products that we do not pack on site).

If a customer is unhappy with a purchase or feels that an item was received in error, we ask the customer to contact us immediately. We accept returns during these circumstances and extend full refunds (including any return shipping cost). We take pride in our products and want our customers to be completely satisfied with their online tea purchases.
